How to prepare for an annual or state inspection and keep an organized service record for your vehicle.

Most inspection failures come from items an owner can check in a driveway: lighting, wipers, tire condition, horn, mirrors and warning lamps left illuminated on the dash.
Walk the list a week ahead rather than the morning of the appointment, so there is time to order a bulb or a blade without rescheduling.
Keep receipts, dates and mileage in one place. A tidy record shortens diagnostic conversations, supports warranty claims, and gives you a reference when a shop recommends work you were not expecting.
What to check
